CONFLUENCE - STUDIO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Paris. Haussmannian Buildings. Heavy Stones. Thick Walls. Big Entrances. But they are closed and the spaces behind are concealed, privatized, and invisible. Almost every door has another colour and a unique doorknob. The combinations might be almost as numerous and diverse as the interiors of the buildings themselves. They are the only reference we have, to what lies behind the massive boundary.

A question with no answer, no right, no wrong: What is behind the closed door in front of you? This project explores the imaginary of hidden spaces using Artificial Intelligence. It forces the AI to hallucinate about something that it cannot know. Starting from the latent space of 633 Parisian doorknobs, a combination of AI models will serve glimpses into this imaginary in form of text, images and sound.
