The Périphérique in Paris - a well-known dilemma. A street. A boundary. A division.
It was created as a transportation ring to facilitate movement.
It has become a symbol of separation and inequality.
A side effect of centuries of monocentric city planning.
If we look closer and start digging - can we find any buried potentials?
The project inserts itself in a "lost space" between the bridges of europes biggest highway interchange.
It imagines an architecture that transforms a concrete desert into a dense center - active all around the clock.
Kiosk boxes move on a circular structure and open up to the center and the outside to inhabit the space.
The roof protects from rain and traffic, opens up to welcome the sun, and suspends terraces for the kiosks on the upper levels.
A podium stages the life above and creates more intimate spaces below.
Come to the E-Sport booth at 4 am, the vernissage of the new exhibition at 2 pm, or street food at 11 pm.
